Y'all know it's Nas yo! After slamming FOX News on his new album, Nas is teaming up with ColorOfChange.org, MoveOn.org, and Brave New Films to deliver a petition to FOX tomorrow in Manhattan at 2PM ET. The petition, which demands FOX stop smearing the Obamas and injecting prejudice into politics, has over 620,000 signatures.
Nas is getting a lot of applause from the blogosphere for grabbing the mic in this campaign and calling out FOX on its racist slander. And according to ColorOfChange.org executive director James Rucker, the applause is well-deserved.
"It is hard to find strong voices willing to step out and call out Fox for what it is—fake news that is harmful to public discourse and to Black America," Rucker told me. "Nas is doing what few are willing to do. It's risky for any musician, entertainer, or other artist to take on a corporate entity because ultimately it can cost them dollars or opportunities. Nas obviously sees the value in speaking the truth and using the stage he has to do it. It's a model for others to follow."

Did Richards and Imus have relatives who were lynched, oppressed, discriminated against and treated like animals. White and Black folks have a different history, perspective and reality.
There is a huge difference between a white person using the "N" word and an African-American using it. White people have always used it in a vile and derogatory manner to demean African-Americans and it will always represent that. Some African-Americans use the "N" word as a colloquial greeting, it's become part of the parlance and culture.
The bottom line is that is it's their right and there is no moral equivalency that can be drawn. Of course racists like you don't get that . . . or choose not to.
